10 GOOD REASONS FOR READING THE BIBLE DAILY

10 GOOD REASONS FOR READING THE BIBLE DAILY

1. THE BIBLE TEACHES US WHO GOD IS. Without reading it we won’t know God’s character. All the questions we have about God can only be answered as we read the Bible. (Hebrews 1:1-3).

2. THE BIBLE SHOWS US WHO TO FOLLOW. We are to follow good examples. Ultimately, we are imitate God. To do so, we must read the Bible to see the good role model that we can follow. The Bible also shows us bad examples which we must avoid. (Ephesians 5:1).

3. THE BIBLE SHOWS US THE RIGHT STEPS WE MUST TAKE. It aids us in decision making. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

10 GOOD REASONS FOR READING THE BIBLE DAILY

4. READING THE BIBLE KEEPS US FROM SIN. David said, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11).

5. THE BIBLE SHOWS US GOD’S WILL. Our minds need a renewal which can only be brought about by reading the Bible. (Romans 12:1-2).

6. THE BIBLE IS OUR FINAL AUTHORITY. The rule is: If God said it, that settles it. The Bible is the ultimate truth. Everything which isn’t in line with it is a fallacy. Jesus says, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17).

7. GOD ONLY GRANTS US OUR DESIRES IN RELATION TO OUR KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WORD. This is a big but true statement. Jesus says, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7). Another scripture says our deliverance from all forms of bondage is in direct relation to our knowledge of the Bible. (John 8:32)

8. WE ONLY LEARN THE GOSPEL MESSAGE THROUGH READING THE BIBLE. John 5:39-40.

9. THE BIBLE GIVES US COURAGE. Each time I read the Bible I get more courage to face challenges ahead of me. It renews my faith (Joshua 1:8-9).

10. READING THE BIBLE HELPS US TO BE FRUITFUL. Psalm 1:2-3 says the person meditates on the teachings of the Bible day and night… “is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—   whatever he does prospers.”

With these, and many other reasons to read the Bible, you do yourself justice by taking some quality time to read it on a daily basis. If you just commit yourself to 15minutes daily you will finish reading the whole Bible in just one year
