Zimbabwe - Hang On, God Is Up To Something

In the mind of many people, our nation, Zimbabwe, seems to be going nowhere but, I kind of see things differently.

Here’s why:

I’ll start by asking you a question: Have you ever walked into the kitchen and see someone, probably your spouse, preparing a unique dish you have never tasted before and you are like, ‘What’s this!’?

She may be putting together a meal that does not look like it’s going anywhere. It’s a little of this and a little of that and a little of the other. You’ll say, “What are you making?” She will answer, “Wait and see.”

If you have the patience to wait while she puts her special touch to the meal, when it comes to the table all you can say is, “Delicious.”

That’s how God works.

Zimbabwe - Hang On, God Is Up To Something

He takes a little of this and a little of that and a little of the other that might not look too tasty on its own. Yet in His sovereignty, He can mix it, stir in a little challenge, add some pressure, a pinch of grace, throw in a little goodness, mix in a little mercy, and combine it all together.

Then, when it comes out of the oven, all you can say is, “Excellent.”

That’s exactly what God is doing behind the scenes in our beautiful nation, Zimbabwe. One day, everyone will say, “excellent.”

For now, let’s not lose hope. The delicious meal is almost saved. Let’s continue to pray. Let’s remain committed to God’s purpose following His path.

It might take more time than we anticipate, but His time is the best. He is the Master cook. He will work our bad circumstances for our good.

He saw us through back in 2008 and He will see us through this year.

Let’s ask Him to grant us the patience to wait with a trusting spirit as He arrange the situations and experiences in our nation for His good and glory. Let’s thank Him for what He is doing—even that which we cannot yet see.

Scripture: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
